We Are Having A ...

Sorry for the delay. I had my blog mostly ready to post when Tyler needed me. So, I went to help him. A little later I returned to my computer and the internet had stopped working. We found it wasn't even finding an IP address! A friend of Rodger's will come fix it but he can't until tomorrow. So, I am over at my parents now and will get up the blog the best I can. I had scanned one photograph of the baby but wanted to get some of the other ones too. I will have to add those later. This will have to do for now.

So, The day finally came for our ultrasound. I am 19 weeks now. Everything looked fine in the ultrasound except again, like with Tyler, they found cysts on the brain (Choroid Plexus Cysts). Because everything else looked fine they aren't really worried, but to make sure they will have us come back at the end of July to see if the cysts are still there or if the body absorbed the fluids. They will also look to make sure the baby is still growing properly because if it isn't just "nothing" it can affect the growth of the baby. The main concern it could be, which is very small odds since everything else looked fine is Trisomy 18.... which is bad. Because Tyler had the cyst and everything else looked fine and turned out fine I am not really worried... but it would be awesome if one day I could have an ultrasound that was perfect.... hahahah yea right... as if my life could be that simple.

Oh... sorry... after all that babbling... the answer is "We Are Having A....

Boy!!!!

Yup, just like I thought. I felt since Tyler was one month old that we would have a boy. I remember waking up at the end of a night sleep with a very distinct impression that we would have a boy and his name would be Lincoln. I remember thinking to myself... "Oh... Ok. I just had a baby a month ago but ok. Then I had the same feeling/impression two more times in the weeks following the first dream.

I am so glad he is finally coming since we had the miscarriage. I look forward to meeting him and welcoming him to our family. We are sooooooooo excited. Also, with the lack of income with both of us out of jobs at least we know he will at least have clothes on his back since we had Parker in October and Tyler in February. Oh, Lincoln is due Nov. 11. The ultrasound shows Nov. 7. I hope he comes on Nov. 8. Why? Because I love numbers and Parker was born on Oct. 28, Tyler on Feb. 18. So why not Lincoln on Nov. 8? I also went into the MTC in 1995 on Nov. 8. Hehheheheh... we love numbers when they work out.

Here a one of the pictures of Lincoln. I will get more up once our computer is working at home. Oh, one more thing.... we chose James as the middle name for two reasons. 1. It is my dad's name; and 2. It is Rodger's brothers name and Tyler and Lincoln's cousins name. We wanted to have at least one of the two names of our children be family history related.... so there it is Lincoln James Shumaker will join our family in November!!!!!

When It Rains... It Pours

Today started off pretty well. I had my doctors appointment as I am almost 18 weeks pregnant not. Things are going well and this pregnancy hasn't been too bad at all. They set up the appointment for the ultrasound for June 17th to find out the sex of the baby and make sure the baby is healthy. I called Rodger and told him the date of the ultrasound... we are very excited.

Then this afternoon... I got a phone call from Rodger...

He told us we were in crisis mode... I asked him what he meant. I thought he meant he was so busy at school getting the teachers checked out at the end of the school year... but then he told me they are letting him go! I just sat there... You are kidding me!!! How can we go from two of us working to neither of us working in 10 days!?!?!?! I am so stressed and have so much anxiety. The end of this month we will lose our insurance which means unless we find something with good insurance we can't do any followups for Rodger's ear surgery to check his hearing, etc. And, I don't have insurance for me or the baby. I pray for God's help and that we will be able to survive this. I am in shock... this is unbelievable!

Amazing "Robots"

I promise I will still get up the rest of the update on our trip to Mantua on Memorial Day. I have just been so busy trying to figure out how to make some money so we don't drown financially in a couple of weeks. I also have been taking care of Tyler and Lori's two kids still... so I wanted to share a story. It is pretty funny:

Finally, since I have been home more I got Tyler's toys more organized so the kids can actually find "groups" of toys and play better. One thing is I have all of Tyler's legos in a bucket so they can build stuff. Tyler LOVES to build "Robots". So, when Ami and Enoch came over today Tyler and I taught Ami how to make "Robots" too. Here is a photograph of Tyler and Ami's "Robots". Good work, kids!!!!!!!
