Our Three Year Old

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TYLER TODAY!!!!

Here are the feelings directly from Tyler on being a 3 year old:

I think that tells it all :D, hahaha. Thank you for sharing your feelings with us today, Tyler. I told him Happy Birthday today and he said "Thanks" and I said I have 3 year old now. He said, "Yea, that is me". I love Tyler so much.

So here is what we did for his birthday (hopefully I can get it all on before Lincoln wakes up). We had a Space/Astronaut Theme for his party as he wanted a Spaceship cake.

Here is the invitation I made:


At his birthday party we had Astronaut Training for Shuttle Tyler. Launch Date: Feb. 18, 2009.


Each of the kids had a name tag that has their name on it and said Astronaut Tyler, for example. When they accomplished each step of the training they got a sticker that they put on their name tag.


So for the first step of the Astronaut Training the kids had to do the Moon Boot Test. They each put on the boots and had to walk around the room. They got a sticker for accomplishing this test.


Second they did the Zero Force Station,(turning them around in a swivel chair), so they could practice being on the moon. Another sticker was given for this test. They all passed!



Third was the Moon Rock Find. They were soccer balls wrapped in tin foil hidden in Tylers room. They had to use flashlights to search for them. I didn't realize Tyler and his friend Megan had made such a big mess in his room before the party started, so it was harder for the kids to find the moon rocks... but they were experts in the end and found them!




Fourth was the Lung Test. They each had to work on their lungs by blowing up ballons. Another sticker was given for this. They did great!



The last part was a take home test. They had to take their coloring sheets home and color themselves as an astronaut and also the planets. They need to know their planets to be an astronaut. They got their final sticker!

As you can see... they still wanted to get their lungs stronger too! Almost all of them had their balloons in hand!

The induction to be an official astronaut then took place as they all passed!




Congratulations to Astronauts Tyler, Lincoln, Anthony, Megan, Ami, Enoch, Isabela, Ava, Cameron, Sophie (with Coopers help), and Reagan! They had a lot of fun.

Then we had the spaceship cake and astronaut cookies. (Long story but we were rushed so they didn't turn out quite like we wanted them to, but they look ok. Next time we make a cake we will need to give ourselves more time for sure). We had the least time on the cookies, so they sort of look like missionaries, hahhaahha.






Tyler had a great time at his party (other then a couple of small meltdowns, due to not getting a nap, because his cousin blew the candle out before he could, so we had to re-light the candles, and someone taking off with his presents and he was in the middle of unwrapping another present so he couldn't get it back himself, hahahaha).
